Free Exam Guidance Information Evening
On Tuesday, 17th September, as we hosted our first event of the year at the D15 Study Hub in St Brigid's Community Centre in Blanchardstown Village. It was a pleasure to welcome students and parents from Dublin 15 to our Free Exam Guidance Information Evening. The session was designed to help attendees approach the challenges of the Leaving Cert and Junior Cycle exams with confidence. We covered key topics aimed at supporting both students and their families throughout this important exam period. See below for more details. Our Back to School - Free Exam Guidance Information Evening - took place in September. During the evening our Guidance Counsellor advised the parents and students present about:
Study Strategies: How to learn effective study techniques that enhance learning, improve retention and maximise exam performance.
Coping with Stress: Understanding the common stressors associated with exams and discovering practical strategies to manage stress and anxiety. Our experienced Guidance Counsellor shared tips on maintaining a positive mindset, relaxation techniques and how to stay focused under pressure.
Wellbeing: Prioritising mental and physical health during exam preparation. The importance of a balanced lifestyle, including proper nutrition, exercise and sleep, as well as the role of mindfulness and self-care practices in maintaining overall wellbeing were all discussed.
The evening was a valuable opportunity for students to gain insights that will help them succeed and for parents to learn how to support their children effectively.
